Mitcham Library Service customers can now use any public library across SA with a single card and have access to over 4 million items. The SA public library 'one card' network has connected the systems of more than 130 public libraries across South Australia to let you borrow and return items wherever you go, using your current library card.
Accessing the Catalogue
Our catalogue lists material at any OneCard Library. Anyone can search the catalogue, but a password is required to access your records, renew and reserve items at the Library or via the internet at home. The home page can be accessed at http://library.mitchamcouncil.sa.gov.au
On the first visit 5 items in total. Following visits up to 100 items at once from all OneCard libraries. There is a limit of 20 audiovisual items per card. Read our fair use policy.
Items may be returned to either branch:
- 4 weeks for books, audio books and language kits.
- 2 weeks for DVDs, CDs, magazines, and inter-library loans.
Loans can be renewed in person, on the phone or via the internet if not overdue. Items can be renewed twice, unless reserved by another borrower.
If the item you require is out on loan, you can place a reservation using the catalogue in the Library or on the internet. We will notify you by email, post or sms as soon as the item is available and hold it for 7 days for you to collect. You can reserve up to 30 items.
After Hours Returns
After-hours return chutes are located near the entrance of both Libraries for your convenience.
If we do not have the item you require in our catalogue you may contact us in person, by phone or via our website and we will try to obtain it for you.
We take your privacy seriously. All local government employees are bound by the Code of Conduct for Council Employees. To learn more about your privacy as a user of the One Card Network please click here.
