In addition we have personal computers with free high speed internet access for public use, wireless internet access, scanners, image management software, and other Microsoft Office applications. The Libraries also offer a wide range of community activities for people of all ages.

Becoming a Member

Membership is free to anyone who can produce relevant identification with their name, current address and signature. A guarantor is required for people under the age of 18. Click here to register online.

OneCard Network

Mitcham Library Service is proud to be part of the One Card Network in South Australia. This computer system will be gradually introduced across South Australia to connect more than 130 public library catalogues together. This means you will be able to see what is available in other participating public libraries and borrow their items as well as those available at Mitcham Library Service. You can go to any participating library and borrow an item. You must present your library card to borrow. You can also use the library catalogue (now called Enterprise) to place a hold and have your item delivered to your home library (i.e. Mitcham or Blackwood Library). You can also request to have your books sent to another library. Mitcham Library Service will send you a pre-overdue notice (by email), an overdue notice at 14 days and an invoice for the replacement cost if the item is not returned. Per notice fees and processing fees will apply. If you owe over $30 you will be unable to borrow from any One Card library. For further information on the One Card network please ask our staff.
