On October 23 the Draft Dog and Cat Management Plan 2012 -2017 was approved by Council and presented to the Dog and Cat Management Board for their consideration on the 29 of October 2012. The Dog and Cat Management Plan 2012- 2017 was subsequently approved as presented.   

The Dog and Cat Management Plan 2012-2017 will set the direction for the management of urban animals within the community for the next five years as required by the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 and build upon the already well received animal management services provided by the City of Mitcham.

Did you register your dog or cat?  

Over 89% of cats and 80% of dogs living in the City ofMitchamwere re-registered this year. 

Council has sent letters to those that have not re-registered their pets and will soon begin a Dog and Cat Door Knock Program to ensure your cat or dog is registered.
