The original village of Mitcham, Brownhill Creek and the adjacent suburbs of Torrens Park, Hawthorn and Kingswood have many large and well-known Historical features as well as many that are not so well-known.

Join us on walks designed to show some of these historical features, learn about Mitcham’s local history, and raise money for research into Lung Cancer and other lung diseases.

Lung Foundation (Australia)

The walks are:-

 1. Brownhill Creek and Ellison’s Gully

 2. Brownhill Creek Heritage Trail

 3. Mitcham Walk

 4. Hawthorn Walk

 5. Kingswood Walk

Kingswood Heritage Walk

Buildings of many forms can be seen on this walk; from a former chemist and a former church to  former breweries and a hotel, and a church, a former convent, a former delicatessen and a World War 1 Memorial. Also, there is the garage, former flour mill and Western Gatehouse to Torrens Park, and a former church. 

Please meet at 1pm at the Mitcham Garden of Remembrance, outside the Library.
