As a result of Council formally considering a detailed report  regarding the safety improvements at the Princes Road / North Parade intersection at its 27 March 2012 meeting the following  work has been approved to be undertaken: 

• The prohibition of some traffic movements by the installation of a traffic island, pavement bars, regulatory signs and line marking at North Parade and Princes Road. 
• The funding of $45,000 to be allocated to the Road Safety Projects budget line to enable completion of the work during the 2011/2012 Works Program. 
• All  the major stakeholders and respondents from the consultation process be advised accordingly. (completed) 

Arrangements have now been implemented to proceed with the construction of the endorsed road safety improvements at the North Parade and Princes Road intersection and the  work is scheduled to be completed by June 2012.
