Holdfast Bay, Marion and Mitcham Councils have joined together to establish an Inclusion Reference Group to assist in shaping an inclusive community and enhancing consumer voice in influencing services and matters affecting them.
Who should apply to be a member?
We are looking for individuals with strong community connections that reflect the diversity of our community:
- People with disability, including mental health
- People from a multicultural background
- Aboriginal people
- Unpaid carers or a family member of a person with disability
- Interested residents
- People with experience of issues affecting older people
- People who identify as LGBTIQA+
What benefits will I receive from being part of the group?
You’ll be part of a diverse team that provides valuable information to Councils and the community.
You’ll connect with community members to share experiences and learn from each other.
You’ll be provided with training in self-advocacy and other topics as decided by the group.
You’ll be creating a more inclusive and supportive community.
What are the time commitments of being a member?
Members will be appointed for a 1 year term.
Committee meetings with be held monthly, sub-committee meeting frequency will be determined by the Inclusion Reference Group members.
Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference will be determined by the group.
How to apply?
If you live within the Councils of Marion, Mitcham and Holdfast Bay and would like to be part of the group please complete the Expression of Interest form. The form can be provided in alternate formats upon request.
