
A Guide to Mitcham’s Bike and Skate Parks
Council skate parks and playgrounds re-opened in May. We feature some of Mitcham’s dedicated spaces for skaters, BMX and mountain bike riders.
Blackwood Skate Park
Location: 253 Shepherds Hill Rd, Eden Hills
Ability: Beginner to advanced
Features: Flowy street bark with large transitions, banks, boxes and ledges
Hours: The facility provides lighting until 9pm and toilets nearby
Colonel Light Gardens BMX Track
Location: Mortlock Park, West Parkway, Colonel Light Gardens
Ability: Beginner to intermediate
Hours: Daylight hours and toilets nearby
Features: Junior loop track
APEX Park Hawthorndene BMX Track
Location: Next to Apex Park, Watahuna Avenue, Hawthorndene
Ability: Beginner, intermediate, advanced jump lines*
*Please be aware that the advanced track line is currently closed until further notice. All other lines are open for use, however it is highly recommended that riders avoid using the track if water pooling is visible on track lines

Features: Advanced jump line, intermediate jump line and beginners’ loop
Suffolk Reserve BMX Track
Location: Suffolk Road Reserve, Hawthorndene
Ability: Beginner, intermediate
Hours: Daylight hours
Features: Junior loop track and beginners’ loop
St Marys BMX Loop
Location: St Marys Park, Laura Avenue, St Marys.
Ability: Beginner Intermediate
Features: Junior loop track
Hours: Daylight hours
Cumberland Skate Park
Location: 35/37 Avenue Rd, Cumberland Park
Ability: Beginner, intermediate
Features: Flowy street bark with transitions, banks, boxes and rails
