Public Arts Grants now open!

Calling all artists! City of Mitcham is seeking applications for Public Art Grants (Round 4) and Arts Activation Grants.

Total grant funding of $38,000 is available for art to be delivered in the City of Mitcham for the 2020/21 financial year.

Applications for up to $1,000 are sought for creative projects that activate an area within the City and engage with the community under newly established Art Activation Grants.

In addition City of Mitcham is seeking applications for larger projects ($1,000-$35,000) from experienced and emerging artists.

Public art in the City of Mitcham makes a significant contribution to local identify, helps create and activate vibrant public spaces and helps build a strong cultural and arts sector.

Last year’s public art grants were awarded to a range of projects including ‘Together’, a large-scale mural by Elizabeth Close at Blackwood, John Denlay’s ‘Street Stories’ kerb art at Clarence Gardens and ‘Spiritual Grounding’ totem poles by Marra Dreaming, to be installed at Waite Reserve, Blackwood.
