Australia Day

Australia Day at St Marys Park

Join us at St Marys Park for our annual Australia Day Celebrations with a free 'Aussie BBQ'. Enjoy musical entertainment, kids' activities and have a go at the 'Come and Try' sports activities.

Whilst conferees are registering from 8am to 9am enjoy acoustic tunes delivered by Harry Baulderstone and a free pancake.

At 9am our Australia Day Celebrations will begin with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country acknowledging the traditional owners of the land we will meet on.

We will then celebrate City of Mitcham residents for their contribution to our community by acknowledging them with the Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards. Following this presentation, we will welcome our newest citizens by sharing in their final steps during the Citizenship Ceremony.

After the presentations, enjoy a free BBQ and 'Desserts from Around the World' representing each of the countries our new citizens originate from. We will also have performances by Studio Flamenco and a performance of Australian songs and stories by Me 'n' Me Mates.
