Council is planning to upgrade the footpath and streetscape along Price Avenue, Clapham – eastern side (between Kinross Avenue and Springbank Road) and Springbank Road service road, Clapham – northern side (between Price Avenue and Railway Line). Construction is planned for the 2019/2020 financial year.
The footpaths will be upgraded from asphalt to permeable concrete block pavers. As part of the footpath works, Council will reconstruct existing asphalt driveways with concrete block paving.
Price Avenue functions as a north-south connection for both commuters and recreational cyclists predominantly using the existing on-road bicycle lanes. This forms part of the broader Belair to City Bikeway. Council has allowed for and considered the future potential alignment of the Proposed Belair to City Bikeway adjacent to the railway corridor as part of the footpath and streetscape upgrade
When can you expect works to commence?
Stage 1 of the Price Avenue footpath upgrade, between Wattlebury Road and Kinross Avenue, commenced in early December 2019 and is scheduled for completion in January / February. Stage 1 of the works included the upgrade of the intersection of Wattlebury Road and Price Avenue. These works included the installation of new pedestrian ramps to provide safer crossing points. Line marking will be installed to better delineate the intersection for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
The proposed timeframe of upcoming works are:
- Wattlebury Road and Price Avenue Intersection Line marking – January / February
- Tree Removals – January / February
- Footpath Construction – February / March

If you would like to meet with Council staff onsite to discuss the above upcoming works a meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday 14 January 2020 at 5pm at the intersection of Price Avenue and Bellavista Avenue.
