I have just moved into the area and do not have any bins

The City of Mitcham owns the general waste (blue lid) and recycling (yellow lid) bins and therefore provides these bins to residents at no cost. If you require a general waste and/or recycling bin please contact Council on 8372 8888 or follow the prompts through the Request for Services tool found on Council's home page.

Mitcham Council does not own the green organics (green lid) bin. Residents are responsible for providing and maintaining a 240L green bin in order to receive the green organics collection service. Click here for bin stockists.

My bin has been stolen, how do I get a replacement?

As the Council owns the general waste (blue lid) and recycling (yellow lid) bins, Council will replace these bins if they are stolen. A lost property report number is required in order for Council to provide a replacement bin. Visit http://www.reportlostproperty.police.sa.gov.au/ to obtain this report number. Once you have the report number contact Council on 8372 8888 to arrange for the bins to be replaced.

If the green organics bin has been stolen, it is up to the resident to replace it. Click here for bin stockists.

My general waste (blue lid) bin is broken or has deteriorated

If the lids, wheels or pins are broken please contact Council on 8372 8888 to arrange for your general waste bin to be repaired. If the bin cannot be repaired, a new bin will be provided.
