If a catastrophic or extreme fire danger warning is declared for the Mount Lofty Ranges, we restrict our services in our high fire risk area.

Affected services on catastrophic days:

We'll close Blackwood Library but will continue to provide services at Mitcham Memorial Library.

We'll close our Immunisation clinic at the Blackwood Church of Christ.

We won't collect domestic waste bin (blue lid), green organics bin (green lid) and recycling bin (yellow lid) on catastrophic fire risk days in the high fire risk area. You should leave your bins out until we reschedule our services. If there are several catastrophic fire danger rating days forecasted, or running one after the other, we'll collect your bins at the lowest risk times.

Suburbs in the high fire risk area include:

  • Monday: Urrbrae and Springfield (see the waste collection map below)
  • Tuesday: Torrens Park and Lynton (see the waste collection map below)
  • Wednesday: Belair, Brownhill Creek, Crafers West, Glenalta, Hawthorndene, Mitcham and Upper Sturt (see the waste collection map below)
  • Thursday: Clapham, Panorama, Pasadena, St Marys and Eden Hills (see the waste collection map below)
  • Friday: Bedford Park, Bellevue Heights, Blackwood, Coromandel Valley, Craigburn Farm and Leawood Gardens (see the waste collection map below)

When will my waste be collected?

After a catastrophic fire danger day, bin collection services might be affected as we work towards restoring our bin collection schedule. Leave your bins out until we collect them. We’ll run our waste and recycling trucks on weekends until we collect the bins in all areas.
