Craigburn Farm Open Space Reserve

The City of Mitcham is considering a proposal to revoke the classification of Community Land status from portion of the Craigburn Farm Open Space Reserve.  

A sewer pumping station, its access and surrounds has been constructed on portion of the Reserve (described as Allotment 5001 in Deposited Plan 95355 comprising 125 square metres) by the developer of Craigburn Farm – Adelaide Development Company (ADC). This pumping station was handed over to the South Australian Water Corporation (SA Water) in July 2014 and is now operational. It will ultimately service approximately 400 residential allotments in the Blackwood Park development at Craigburn Farm. 

As SA Water has a requirement that all of its pumping stations are to be located on SA Water land, ADC and SA Water have now requested Council to transfer ownership of the pumping station to SA Water. 

As a pre-requisite to transferring the pumping station to SA Water, the Community Land classification must be revoked from the area of the reserve on which the pumping station is located.
