Scout Leader our Citizen of the Year

Scout Leader Natalie Steward is City of Mitcham’s 2025 Citizen of the Year.

Natalie has served the 2nd Adelaide Scout Group for 20 years, starting as Joey Leader, followed by Group Leader, overseeing programs for Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders.

She was recognised alongside Blackwood community leaders Pauline Dodd and Kevin Brook, joint Dual Active Citizens of the Year, and the Blackwood Reconciliation Walk, City of Mitcham's Community Event of the Year.

The trio were presented their awards at a celebration at Mitcham Memorial Library on Thursday 23 January as part of the City's Australia Day celebrations.

As part of the event, the city welcomed 55 new citizens in a citizenship ceremony and recognised grants recipients for their work carried out across the city.

In 2024, City of Mitcham’s Grants Program provided $273,554 to members of our community across a range of categories including Community Facilities Grants, the Maggy Ragless Memorial Grant, Public Art Grants, Quick Response Grants, Recurrent Grants, Civic Participation and Leadership Awards, Multi Year Grants and My Mitcham Community Grants.
