You can apply for an additional bin

You’re entitled to one blue landfill bin, one yellow recycling bin and one green bin collection, but you can ask for additional bins for collection. There’s an annual fee for all additional bin collections to cover the cost associated with managing them. East Waste looks after our additional bin service, here’s how to ask for more bins:

• Complete the additional bin(s) form on East Waste's website, call East Waste on 8347 5111
• You’ll need to give us a valid reason for needing additional bin(s)

It’s important to know that:

• East Waste will provide blue landfill bin, yellow recycling bin and green bins and they will remain Council property
• You’re allowed a maximum of three bins of each colour in total (if you need any more, you’ll have to organise a commercial service for collections). You must pay an annual fee for all additional waste collection services

Once East Waste receives your application form, they’ll check the number of approved bins at your property, make an assessment, and then tell you what they decide.

You'll receive an invoice from East Waste for the additional bins, and once they receive your payment you will receive a sticker to attach to the bin/s so that they can be properly identified.

They’ll also tell you if your application for more bins isn’t successful – and why.

How to cancel your additional bin?

If you would like to cancel your additional bin, please complete the cancellation of additional bin(s) form, call East Waste 8347 5111 or visit the City of Mitcham Civic Centre at 131 Belair Road, Torrens Park in person to fill out a form (cancellations must be in writing).

No refunds are available if you cancel your additional bin service.
