Road resurfacing works will take place on Eliza Place between Springbank Road and Panorama Drive from 19 October to 13 November 2026.

Works will include removal of the existing road surface, laying new bitumen seal, service cover adjustments and line marking reinstatement.

Expect temporary traffic management, reduced speed limits, short delays and some noise during works. On-street parking will not be permitted within the work zone. Property access will be maintained wherever practicable.

We appreciate your patience while these essential road maintenance works are carried out.

Bins, waste and recycling

At the City of Mitcham, we take waste management and recycling seriously. Whether you need to get rid of an old TV or want to put your food waste to good use, you’ve come to the right place.

Use this page to learn how to use your blue landfill bin, yellow recycling bin and green bin, what to do with food waste, and how to safely get rid of tricky waste including electrical waste, where to take large quantities of garden organic waste, and how to book a hard waste collection.

For bin collection days, download the My Local Services app or download our 2026 waste and recycling collection calendar.

To book a waste education presentation for your school, community group or organisation, fill in the general enquiry about bins or waste services online form or give us a call on 1300 133 466. You can also book a ‘Beyond the kerb’ waste and recycling tour through KESAB here.
