As new roads are built, we need to find appropriate names for them. Sometimes we also need to rename existing roads. On this page you will find new and changed road names.

621 Goodwood Road, Panorama

At the Council meeting held on the 13 December 2022, Council resolved to approve the following road names for the land division development at 621 Goodwood Road, Panorama which recognises the significant link with the original founder of the land in question as follows: -

Michos Avenue – (Lot 5 & 68)

  • Named after Leon Michos the father of Steven Michos (developer transforming the site), who migrated from a small village in Greece (Loannina) in 1959 looking for a better life for himself and a better place to start his family.  Leon brought his exceptional cuisine to Adelaide, opening the first Greek restaurant in the 60’s in Hindley Street called Athens.  After spending years in the food industry, Leon turned his attention to property development and has left his mark in and around the suburbs of Adelaide.  In naming a road “Michos Avenue”, the site would have a connection and represent the valuable contribution that early migrants had played in the development of suburbs of Adelaide.
