Council has introduced a tree assistance fund to provide financial assistance to help property owners maintain and manage large trees on their land.
Property owners can apply for funds of up to 50% or a maximum of $2,000 towards:
- An initial arborist assessment report of the tree
- tree pruning
- pest and disease control
- fauna support such as installing bird boxes or hollows
Land management grants
Thanks to increased support through the National Emergency Management Agency, we’re expanding our bushfire resilience efforts and making it easier for landowners to apply.
Some types of weeds harm our environment and contribute to the bushfire risk. We give grants to private landowners up to $6,000 (with two or more hectares) to help control these target weeds and revegetate land in the Mitcham hills area.
Applications for Land Management Grants are closed.
