The Council's decision-making structure is made up of the Council and a number of committees that operate on a functional or 'as needed' basis.

Council meetings are an important part of our business at the City of Mitcham. The decisions made by Council Members at formal Council meetings provide the direction for the ongoing operation of the Council.

Council committees support Council decision-making. These committees are established to perform a specific function on behalf of the Council. Council Member appointments to committees are made by the Council when each committee is established.

Advisory Groups are established to provide advise and make recommendations.
