We have declared a Climate Emergency and as part of our commitment, we are taking proactive measures to address climate change.
We are making some changes to do our part for the planet, and we are saying no to advertising on any Council- controlled signage if it’s from companies whose main business is the extraction or sale of coal, oil and gas. By taking this stance, we aim to limit our support of industries that contribute to carbon emissions and environmental degradation.
We are also conducting a comprehensive review of all relevant Council policies to ensure they align with our commitment to climate action. This review process will involve updating existing policies to reflect our policy position and support our efforts to address climate change effectively.
Through these initiatives, we are seeking to provide leadership in our community and inspire positive change in the fight against climate change. We believe that by taking decisive action now, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for our community and the planet as a whole.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to implement measures to address the Climate Emergency and work towards a greener, more sustainable future for all.
