A sweet addition to Winston Avenue
Michaelangelo’s has opened a dessert bar next door to its takeaway pizza outlet at Winston Avenue, Clarence Gardens.
Owner Mohamed Zoubaa says he wanted to offer locals somewhere they can enjoy gelato on warm spring and summer nights.
“There’s nothing like this in the area and I thought it would be fun for people,” he said. “People like to come to Winston Avenue walking with their kids, or with their dogs, and I think we need more of these types of places for them.”
The community turned out in force to support the bar’s launch event last month, queuing to enjoy $2 scoops.
The bar offers 12 gelati flavours available in cones or cups, 500ml or 1 litre takeaway tubs, along with milkshakes, thickshakes and crepes.
Located next door to Michaelangelo Dial a Pizza, the bar has outside seating and is open from Wednesday to Sunday 3pm to 8pm.
Over the past 15 years, Mohamed has grown Michaelangelo’s into a popular local business well known for its generous takeaway pizzas, pastas, chicken parmigiana and garlic breads.
