Death Festival returns to Centennial Park
The SA Death Festival returns to Centennial Park on Sunday 18 October.
Hosted by the Pure Land Home Hospice and supported by a City of Mitcham grant, the free festival offers talks, an outdoor picnic, workshops, art and guided meditation, inviting open conversations around death, grief and love.
In its third year, the festival will be officially opened by City of Mitcham Mayor Dr Heather Holmes-Ross.
Other guest speakers include author Peter Goldsworthy, Pure Land Home Hospice Co-Founders Jan McGregor and India Wallace, carers, clinicians, celebrants and people with lived experience of loss.
“The festival is a warm, community-led gathering; a day to talk about the thing we rarely talk about,” India said. “For one day we open a space to explore death, dying, grief and remembrance with honesty, creativity and compassion.”
Bring a picnic or purchase lunch, coffee and treats from Wildflowers Café while exploring festival stalls, community organisations and end-of-life services.
