Discover the Blackwood Tree Trail
A new tree trail is now open at Blackwood thanks to the Trees for Future Mitcham group, highlighting the importance of local trees in our community.
The 1km loop begins with a Grey Box eucalyptus tree at Tiwu Kumangka on Young Street and follows a route that takes in Station Avenue and Shepherds Hill Road.
Ten trees are highlighted with tree tags to educate participants about their characteristics and crucial roles they play within the local ecosystem.
A brochure charting each tree’s location, common, botanical and Kaurna name, and unique features is available from Tiwu Kumangka.
