Landscaping project set to begin at Pasadena Community Centre
Work on the next stage of improvements at the Pasadena Community Centre will begin next week, with landscaping of the drainage reserve getting under way from Monday 21 September.
The project is being delivered in stages and is funded through a Green Adelaide Cooler, Greener, Wilder grant, along with a contribution from the City of Mitcham.
Phase Two will focus on landscaping the drainage reserve, creating natural habitats and incorporating indigenous flora, water-sensitive elements, sustainable retention and use of water, and interpretive signage.
The works will also create an outdoor play area for children and a kitchen garden with a propagation area, providing a space for the Pasadena gardening group to continue growing plants for local projects.
Phase Three will then involve upgrading the existing car park to improve safety and accessibility, along with stormwater improvements.
The Community Centre will remain open throughout the works, however access to the drainage reserve and car park will be restricted at different times. During construction, access to the Community Centre will be available via the breezeway from Adelaide Terrace, with construction areas securely fenced for community safety.
Due to the potential risks associated with the works, all programming at the Pasadena Community Centre will be cancelled from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September. The Community Lounge will remain open with restricted hours during this time. The car park will be closed for the duration of the works, which are scheduled for completion in March 2027.
Visitors are encouraged to park along Adelaide Terrace or Magdalene Terrace while the car park is closed.
