Mitcham's Community Bus set to go electric

The City of Mitcham is set to add an electric bus to its fleet, saving carbon emissions and fuel costs.

At its March meeting, Council endorsed a motion to purchase the bus and charger, to be installed at the Mitcham Civic Centre.

The move is part of a range of initiatives aimed at transitioning Council’s fleet to electric vehicles.

Mitcham’s Community Bus Service transports residents who face transport challenges on weekly trips to Blackwood, Mitcham, Pasadena and Castle Plaza shopping centres, along with monthly trips to Westfield Marion and the SA Aquatic Centre. The service also provides visits to Mitcham’s libraries.
