Parenting talks launched Pasadena
Pasadena Community Centre is set to host a series of free parenting and caregiving seminars in October and November.
The seminars follow a 12-month pilot bringing together Flinders University College of Health and Enablement specialists and nursing placement students with parents and caregivers at Pasadena.
Flinders University Associate Lecturer Annette Barrie said the trial built on a partnership between Flinders University and the City of Mitcham and had been warmly welcomed by parents.
“We were able to offer multi-disciplinary health information to parents and offer our nursing students the chance to spend time with children and families,” she said. “We’re hoping to expand on the trial and explore new ways of offering services to people who don’t always know where to start.”
The free seminars will be open to City of Mitcham residents. Children are welcome to attend. Sessions include:
Understanding neurodiversity and navigating assessment pathways Friday 2 October, 10am to 12pm
Sleep and settling, healthy sleep habits Thursday 22 October, 10am to12pm
