Tower Arts Centre to host 'The Crucible'
The Blackwood Players are set to perform their latest production, Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, at The Tower Arts Centre at Pasadena this month.
Director Greg Elliott will be joined by fellow former drama teacher Harry Dewar, who is taking the role of Deputy Governor Judge Danforth, and a crew of experienced and emerging talent from Blackwood and beyond.
Greg says the production, which reimagines the witch hunts of 1692, is set in a modern American context to highlight ongoing themes of mass hysteria, paranoia and false accusations.
“Superstition and fear are alive and well today, and there are still those who want to go back to a time when we lived in a male dominated society, and that’s why the play is still so relevant,” Greg says.
The Crucible is on at The Tower Arts Centre from Wednesday 2 September to Saturday 12 September. Tickets are Adult $30, Concession $20 and Student $15. To book visit https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1598577
