The Autumn leaf street sweeping program is underway and focuses on streets lined with deciduous trees. We aim to blow and sweep leaves on these roads and footpaths on a fortnightly basis for a ten week period, usually between the months of April to June. Delays in sweeping may be experienced due to weather and higher leaf falls.

Dedicated Business Support Officer

Small business owners in the City of Mitcham can access one-on-one support through a dedicated Business Support Officer.

Funded by the South Australian Government, the dedicated Business Support Officer can provide a personalised service by connecting you to programs, grants and funding, tools and resources to help you start, run or grow your business.

Covering the metro area and all regions across South Australia, Business Support Officers have been appointed under South Australia’s Small Business Strategy 2023-2030 to provide localised support and gather information on issues and opportunities unique to your region, to inform the development of future government programs and initiatives.

Office for Small and Family Business

The Office for Small and Family Business supports businesses to start, grow and succeed, and to connect businesses to the array of government services.

They support small and family businesses in South Australia, and provide:

  • access to South Australian Government services, supports and grant programs
  • an in-house service to actively assist and support South Australia’s small and family businesses
  • a wide range of small business tools and resources, including tips on starting a business, accessing export markets, handling cyber security, employing staff, and business and marketing plan templates
  • coordination of small business capability development programs
  • connection to relevant Australian Government services, local government services, industry associations, chambers of commerce and service providers
  • policy across the whole of government to create programs that support small businesses to be successful.
