More than 51% of South Australians volunteer each year. These volunteers make valuable contributions to the provision of essential community services, improve the quality of life for those in need and strengthen the links between people living in a local council district. Mitcham Council recognises and greatly appreciates the time and service given by our volunteers. In fact, many of Council's community programs are highly dependent upon the participation of caring and committed volunteers.
The City of Mitcham highly values the contribution that volunteers make to the community, heritage and environment. Council has a wide range of volunteer opportunities to choose from, including caring for community gardens, researching local history, driving a community bus, serving lunch to aged residents and more.
