Volunteering

Volunteering

The City of Mitcham offers opportunities for volunteering across several areas including our libraries, community centres, events, community wellbeing, Justice of the Peace, and gardening. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, many of our programs have been suspended. As restrictions are being eased, some of our programs have started to recommence in a modified format. We are continuously planning ways to recommence all programs and operate within the restrictions. For our existing Volunteers, we can’t wait to see you again but until then, be safe and be well.

For those looking for a future Volunteer Opportunity please contact our Coordinator Volunteers Services at lnorton@mitchamcouncil.sa.gov.au

Volunteer Services

More than 51% of South Australians volunteer each year. These volunteers make valuable contributions to the provision of essential community services, improve the quality of life for those in need and strengthen the links between people living in a local council district. Mitcham Council recognises and greatly appreciates the time and service given by our volunteers. In fact, many of Council's community programs are highly dependent upon the participation of caring and committed volunteers.

The City of Mitcham highly values the contribution that volunteers make to the community, heritage and environment. Council has a wide range of volunteer opportunities to choose from, including caring for community gardens, researching local history, driving a community bus, serving lunch to aged residents and more.

For other enquiries, please contact the Coordinator, Volunteer Services on 8372 8860 or email mitcham@mitchamcouncil.sa.gov.au.
