Local Government elections will be held in April 2027.
Council elections give you the opportunity to have a say in how your local area is run. You can vote for Council Members, including the Mayor and Councillors, who make decisions about services, facilities and the future of our community.
It’s being run by the Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA), who are responsible for running state and local government elections.
If you live, work or own property in the City of Mitcham, you may be eligible to vote or run as a candidate.
If you’re passionate about your community and want to make a difference, you can stand for election as a Council Member or Mayor.
During the election, eligible voters elect a Mayor and Council Members for their ward.

Enrolment closes at 5pm Monday 4 January 2027, so don’t leave it too late.
