Got a big idea to make a difference in the City of Mitcham? We offer two rounds of funding each year to help bring local programs, workshops, events and celebrations to life.
What is the My Mitcham Community Grant?
We know our residents have big ideas. That’s why we help our community turn their planning into reality with the My Mitcham Community Grant.
We’ve got $100,000 available to match funding (without a set limit per grant) for local community initiatives, like:
- Programs
- Workshops
- Library events
- Community events
- Cultural celebrations
You can find the full eligibility criteria and funding conditions in the Grants Policy and the My Mitcham Community Grant Guidelines.
When do applications open?
We offer My Mitcham Community Grants twice each year, first in February and then in August (in council election years the August round is offered in July and closes on the last business day of the month at 5pm).
February 2024 funding closes 5pm Thursday 29 February.
August 2024 funding closes 5pm Thursday 29 August.
You can’t apply for funding retroactively, and it takes six to eight weeks to process applications after the closing date, so make sure your activity or event doesn’t fall in this window before applying.
Please make sure your application reaches us before the funding close dates. Unfortunately, we can't accept applications submitted after those dates. To allow for any necessary amendments, we suggest submitting your application at least two weeks prior to the closing date.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We are here to assist you.
