Welcome

Thank you to our volunteers from the heart. National Volunteer Week celebrates and recognises the work volunteers provide in the community. Council's community programs depend upon the participation of caring and committed volunteers. Volunteers drive Community Buses, assist in Libraries, deliver books to house bound residents, research local history, care for gardens and wetlands, transport residents to medical appointments and social activities, act as JP's, lead keep fit and walking groups, provide meals and activities, serve on Youth Committees, help with events and perform clerical and administrative services. Elected Members, Council staff and residents would like to thank every volunteer for their contribution towards making Mitcham a better community to live in.

The Blackwood Library and Toy Library will be closed from Monday June 2 to Monday June 9 inclusive to allow for the building to be painted. Borrowers will not be able to return items to Blackwood Library through the after hours chute. No library items will be due back during this period. We apologise for any inconvenience. If you would like to find out more information please contact the Mitcham Library on 8271 0999.
