This month we're hosting a range of sustainability events for all ages across our community centres and libraries. Head along to one of our workshops or join in our nature-themed School Holiday Program.
Beeswax Wrap Workshop
Join us for a beeswax wrap workshop where you'll learn the art of creating eco-friendly reusable wraps. Discover sustainable food storage and the importance of reducing single-use plastic, learn how to create eco-friendly wraps using beeswax and fabric, and embark a journey of reducing plastic waste in your home.

Step into the Mitcham Memorial Library Gallery, to a captivating gallery display show casing sustainable choices. Including ‘Eco Village’ designed by Scotch College students.

Powering Change Together: accelerating a community renewable energy transition in Mitcham
Discover how the City of Mitcham is creating a decentralised renewable energy system to reduce carbon emissions and provides ways for everyone in the community to access cheap local renewable energy.

The Conscious Consumer - Film screening
Join us for the film screening, where we will explore the levels of the waste hierarchy and show you some tips and tricks of how you can Avoid, Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle your waste responsibly. We will also introduce you to some local businesses and community members doing their part to help the City of Mitcham become more sustainable and resilient.

Native Food Experience with Meez On Plus
Unearth the secrets of crafting your very own Native food delights with Billie from Meez On Plus. This workshop will ignite your taste buds with simple recipes and ingredients from your own kitchen garden. Every ticket grants you an exclusive ‘bag of Native goodies’ to start you on your way to growing and cooking our ‘superfoods’
